Safety Shoes
Sturdy shoes are essential in a workshop environment. In industry, leather boots with steel toe-caps are often used to protect the wearer's toes from being crushed by heavy falling objects.
In circumstances where molten metal is being poured, leather shoes with leather flaps (called spats) that cover the laced opening are essential personal protective equipment.
